Privacy Analytics (www.privacyanalytics.ca) provides organizations with enterprise software to safeguard and enable data for secondary purposes. Secondary use of health data applies outside of direct health care delivery. It includes such activities as analysis, research, quality and safety measurement, public health, payment, provider certification or accreditation, marketing and other business applications.
PARAT software masks and de-identifies personal information using a risk-based approach that optimizes the analytic utility of anonymized data sets. It is the only software that can anonymize structured and unstructured data.
In addition, the company offers peer-reviewed methodology and valued-added services that certify data as de-identified using the expert statistical method, helping customers get started quickly and cost-effectively.
Privacy Analytics resulted from the commercialization of the research efforts of the Electronic Health Information Laboratory (EHIL) of the University of Ottawa, which over the past decade has produced more than 150 peer-reviewed papers. The work of EHIL has been influential in the development of regulations and guidance worldwide.
Privacy Analytics is proud to be recognized by the Ontario Information and Privacy Commissioner as a Privacy by Design Organizational Ambassador. The company is committed to the Privacy by Design objectives of “ensuring privacy and gaining personal control over one’s information and, for organizations, gaining a sustainable competitive advantage.”
